17th EUDN PhD Workshop on Development Economics

17th EUDN PhD Workshop on Development Economics

The European Development Research Network (EUDN) PhD Workshop aims at giving PhD students in Development Economics an opportunity to present their papers in an informal environment, as well as to exchange the results of recent and ongoing research in different sub-fields of development economics. In Fall 2018, the workshop will be jointly organized by the EUDN and the CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne and CNRS. The event will take place in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Date: October 25-26, 2018 – CERDI, Clermont-Ferrand, France

Contributions from all sub-fields of development economics are welcome.
We plan for plenty of time for presentation and discussion to maximize comments and questions from the attending faculty.

Keynote speaker Christopher Adam (University of Oxford).

Expenses
Participation in the workshop is free, but participants should cover their own travel and lodging expenses (we can help with logistics). CERDI will offer a conference dinner as well as lunches and coffee breaks during the workshop. Exceptionally, authors of accepted papers without travel funds may apply for subsidies, subject to the availability of funds, if this is indicated before August 31 (along with the submitted paper).

Important Dates:
The workshop will start at 13.00 on Thursday October 25 and end around 18.00 on Friday October 26, 2018. The deadline for submitting an extended abstract or (preferably) a completed paper is August 31, 2018. The submissions (in PDF) should be sent to jules.gazeaud@etu.uca.fr. We will not take in late submissions. Acceptance notes with further information will be sent by September 15, 2018.

For further questions, or information about attending the workshop without presenting, please email to jules.gazeaud@etu.uca.fr.
